Peter's highlighted Osprey was still around today, the 9th, as I distinctly
heard one while birding the wooded verges of Pine Ridge Golf Course,
field testing a new camera/long lens combination. Among the usual sus-
pects there were about 25 Ruddys seen. The deer population is getting
quite blase, one allowing a photo op from 10 feet away--like shooting
fish in a barrel. The only time I've been closer was the same area some
years ago when a young--and hungry--fawn, inadvertently separated from
its mother, attempted to suckle--my knee! Jeez.
