Several by my window, at a feeding station--in Glen Arm near Loch Raven. I was thinking about how cold weather gets interesting activity at backyard feeders. In Nebraska, when the weather would get near or below zero, siskins would show up out of nowhere and cluster at the thistle feeder (at a farmhouse near Omaha)--and if I was patient and slow enough as I'd approach the feeder, I could get a siskin or two to hop down onto my hand where I had some thistle seed in my palm. Maybe east-coast siskins would be too savvy to be so trusting of people. Tim Houghton
