OK, but what if you want to loop a screech owl tape to attract birds, and you want to put the device down and watch from a slight distance? You can't do that and manually turn down the volume at the same time. The software on Birdjam adjusts the track length to prevent the voice portions from playing on all tracks. Somehow when they programmed the Birdjam software, they managed to adjust each and every recording's start length. They didn't cut the recordings because if you watch the progress bar, the tape has a portion at the beginning of each track that is skipped over. Obviously there is a way to program the I-pod to do this or it wouldn't be possible with Birdjam. I don't know if this is done through I-Tunes, but I would assume so.

I do it with the volume control on the speaker.
