Hi All,
I took a one and a half hour walk down to the landing near our house in
Chesapeake Landing for some air and to see what was around. What was
around was eagles -- six Bald including four adults and two youngsters,
and two adult GOLDEN EAGLES that were soaring off to the north across
Mill Creek over Green Point Farms. The first bird was in sight for a
long time and it eventually spotted the second bird off to the east, did
a foot drop, then soared over to the interloper and took a brief shot at
it. Notes on their appearance may be read below in the attached e-bird
report. I also had six woodpecker species, some gulls on the creek and
over our house, Purple Finches continue at our feeder, and our first
local Fox Sparrows of the autumn.
Good birding,
Walter Ellison
