Following Bob Ringler's example from yesterday, the dog and I had a
pleasant walk around Centennial Lake in Columbia this morning. My
best bird was a MERLIN (female/immature), which I spotted from the
"wildlife" end of the lake, perched in the top of a tree on the other side
of Centennial Lane. Another highlight was an adult BALD EAGLE,
which flew up the length of the lake as we arrived. Waterfowl were
rather sparse, consisting of several hundred CANADA GEESE, a
dozen or so MALLARDS, a few RING-NECKED DUCKS and RUDDY
DUCKS, and 3 AMERICAN COOTS.

On the way home we stopped at Wilde Lake, where there was a single
white juvenile SNOW GOOSE with the Canadas.
