This is a few days late, but Wednesday, Dec 3, I went to the end of Liberty
Dam Road off Ward's Chapel Rd, where the dam overlook is, and enjoyed 6
Purple Finches in one tree. Two of them were bright purple males. It was the
nicest look I've had at this species for a long time. Otherwise there was
nothing of interest, such as, say, crossbills, or even Pine Siskins.
Thursday I checked out Druid Ridge Cemetery where I saw siskins previously
and keep hoping for crossbills, but my list was one Goldfinch and two
Juncos.
