I made two birding trips today. The first was to twitch the Greater White-fronted Goose. I encountered Linda Friedland in the grounds of Georgetown Prep and very soon we had great views of this bird as it fed with the Canada geese.

Later on in the morning I went down to Schoolhouse Pond and environs. Fred mentioned earlier the 1st winter Iceland Gull I found that was resting in a large gull flock on part of the landfill visible from the road. Also there were 1 adult and 1 1st winter Lesser Black-backed Gulls both different from the ones seen later at the pond. The Iceland was a rather large bird for that species but with quite pale wings.
