After a total Siskin drought since October, 1999, we had four Pine
Siskins on the thistle feeder yesterday afternoon, December 22. Our
yard is inside the Washington Beltway. So far today, there has been
no further sign of them, however. The frequent transit through the
yard of a Sharp-shinned Hawk has been keeping our feeder birds in
skittish mode all week.
