I passed by Schoolhouse pond today to see if the frozen conditions had attracted any rare gulls. It was not to be, at least not while I was there up to 1:30PM. The most unusual birds were a Wood Duck and a Great Egret.
I also checked Depot Pond and a Trumpeter Swan was present along with two Mute Swan. The Trumpeter came back to Schoolhouse pond, flew around calling (no wing tags) and then landed with the feral geese. I got close enough to read part of the band on its left foot, which seemed to show 20962. There were other numbers present as well but I could not read them.
Good birding
