Hi,
A non-birder in southern Carroll County called about seeing a group of about
12 white cardinal-sized birds in his yard.
The birds were seen around 12:30 - 1:00 PM in a stand of evergreens. They
were described as being almost pure white with rusty heads.
The caller said he looked up the birds in his Peterson's guide and thought
that they looked like Snow Buntings. He added he did not notice any black on
the wings when they flew off.
Any other possible ID (besides Snow Buntings) on these birds?
The birds were seen in a residential area off Liberty Rd. in
Eldersburg/Sykesville. I hope to receive a call if the birds are sighted
again.
