Hi Everybody,
The Kent County Bird Club will launch 2009 with a half-day trip to
Eastern Neck National Wildlife Refuge on Sunday the fourth of January.
Nancy and I will be at the Dollar General parking lot opposite the east
end of Spring St. at 8:00 AM. Eastern Neck Island is great for large
waterfowl concentrations including Tundra Swans, and thousands of scaup,
geese, and dabblers. The Island is also good for landbirds with its
abundance of hedgerows, woodlots, and marshland. We look forward to your
company for some mid-winter birding - dress warmly and bring wet-weather
gear as the forecast calls for a chance of light rain by mid-morning.
Good birding,
Walter Ellison
