On Sat. 1/3 I birded Marshy Point Nature Center and Miami Beach Park. Dundee Creek mostly frozen except for a small stream of water that was occupied by 16 Mute and 3 Tundra Swans. Two adult Bald Eagles were seen soaring high and there were 80 + American Robins in the holly trees. Also, seen and heard, one Hermit Thrush.
At noon Miami Beach was very quiet. Two best birds were a male and female Golden-crowned Kinglet at eye level.
Sunday 1/4 I visited the #1 Bridge and the Picnic Area of the Loch Raven Reservoir.
My best birds at the # 1 Bridge were
Tundra Swan 1
Yellow-bellied Sapsucker 1
Red-breasted Nuthatch 2
Brown Creeper 2
Most enjoyed birds at the Picnic Area were
Gadwall 16
Redhead 10
Common Merganser 45
Pied-billed Grebe 54
American Coot 1500 +
Yellow-bellied Sapsucker 1
Red-breasted Nuthatch 4
