The Cambridge Yacht Club (marina's official name ) was definitely THE place to be today! The weather was very clear and even sunny (unexpectedly so). Most everyone had good looks at the Barrow's Goldeneye, Tufted Duck and Eurasian Wigeon. As Mark posted, the Goldeneye is pretty flighty but finally settled down *inside* the marina for good views. She was not with the Common Goldeneye out in the river, nor (interestingly) was the Eurasian Wigeon with the Am. Wigeon (at foot of Oakley St.) but on its own between the marina and Oakley.

Oakley St. gave good views of many Canvasbacks, a single male Redhead, & both Scaup. Other duck spp. around were several flocks of Long-tailed Duck, Surf Scoter, Bufflehead and the inevitable Mallards. Distant Tundra Swans were also on the river.

On the way home we passed a field with about 500 Snow Geese which had just taken off and were swirling about, very spectacular.

Thanks Mikey! Thanks also to the Yacht Club which was very tolerant of the birders out on their piers, just hope no one gets TOO excited and falls overboard!

Nasty rain on way home, good to be inside now but a great days' birding.
