I would second Ed Boyd's suggestions regarding staying away from the
Cambridge Yacht Club property. The gates into their parking area are
CLEARLY marked Members Only. The east end of the marina (black-capped
pilings) constitute the Cambridge Municipal Marina, run by the city but
supported with both Federal and State moneys. To the best of my knowledge
these docks are open to anyone, especially during the winter when most of
the boats have been removed. No doubt there will be a few arrogant birders
who feel they have a right to go where they please, but I would ask that you
respect the yacht club private property.

This leads me to another issue, the trespassing on Vessey's Orchard
property, the sharing out of directions to this property on MDOsprey, and
the sense that it is okay to go on this property without asking permission
of the owner. PLEASE do not go onto the Vessey Orchard property without
asking for and receiving prior permission from the owner.

I am gaining a growing sense from discussions with Eastern Shore property
owners that birders are NOT held in high esteem because of this very
noticeable tendency of late to go onto private land without prior
permission. I know that many of you will disagree with me....but if I
continue to hear complaints about trespassing birders I will begin to
consider that MDOsprey is doing a disservice to our hobby and will consider
discontinuing the service.

Please practice ethical and responsible birding...it is so easy to do.
