Folks,

I built a desk today for an elementary school in Southern Charles
County. On the way into the school, two adult Bald Eagles soared
overhead. After completing my work, I decided to drive around the
Cobb Island area. In Issue, MD, at the Golf Course, I ran into a herd
of 17 WILD TURKEYS along the side of the road. There very well could
have been many more, but they began to descend deep into the woods as
I got out my camera.

I contemplated scanning the 301 Bride into VA, but with all of the
events in DC, I figured it best to point a scope at the bridge in the
hopes of seeing the Peregrine Falcon or a Great Cormorant. Maybe some
other time...

There were no 'rare' gulls to report after my brief visits to
Schoolhouse and Depot Ponds, nor at the lake behind St. Charles Towne
Center. Though the numbers of gulls were impressive at all locations.

On the way out of Annapolis this morning (headed to Chas County) I
noticed two Red-Tailed Hawks on the North side of where 97 and 50
briefly become one giant highway. They were perched a foot apart from
each other on the same limb just enjoying the morning traffic.
Perhaps they were talking about raising a family here in Annapolis?

On the way home, at nearly the same spot, I noticed an American
Kestrel perched on the South side of Rt 50. I was quite surprised to
see one here, but decided not to stop to take it's photo. Rt 50 is
busy at 3PM.

Lastly, I just got my plane tickets for Mass this Sunday. Here's
hoping the Ivory Gull sticks around. If not, my wife and son and I
will enjoy a delicious seafood lunch on Sunday. They are calling for
loads of sunshine on Sunday. If anyone else is headed up this
weekend, feel free to email me off list.

Good Birding,

Dan Haas
