Hi all,

Took a short walk on the banks of Lake Needwood 11-1pm in Rockville.
Pretty much the usual waterfowl visitors, except for a Red breasted Merganser (hen) on the open portion of water.A Peregrine Falcon made a unsuccessful bombing flight that scattered the ducks briefly. A few minutes later, a Cooper's Hawk made an unsuccessful try at the ducks.
A Red Fox was prowling along the edge of the ice in broad daylight.
(Lake is about 95per frozen over.)

150 Canada Geese (more flying in)
1 Red breasted Merganser
9 Hooded Mergansers
1 Bufflehead
45 Mallards
4 Black Ducks
2 Green winged Teal
2 Turkey Vultures
4 Common Crows
1 Peregrine Falcon
1 Cooper's Hawk
2 Eastern Bluebirds
3 Song Sparrows
