Jim Brighton just called me to report a Greater White-fronted Goose, presumably of the Greenland subspecies, in the field just south of the Solomons Bridge (Thomas Johnson Bridge if you want to be accurate) in Solomons. If you're not familiar with the area, when coming south on Rt. 2/4, Rt. 2 veers off to the right just before you get to the bridge. Turn left after passing under the bridge, then right to get onto Rt. 2 southbound. The field will be on your right. He said the bird was beyond the driveway that splits the fields, and was near the driveway, mixed in with a small flock of Canada Geese.

I hope it sticks around as that would be a county bird for me!
