 Hi Folks seven hardy Birders  joined Field trip leader Danny Poet  for a mid winter trip to the Chesapeake Bay Environmental Center  in Grasonville Md   on Sunday Feb  1  We located 42 species  Marshy creek and Lake Knapp and the small ponds all frozen over so most  waterfowl was distant .  Morning windy so small birds stayed hunkered in brush as much as possible . Numbers are rough but Highlights were 

Canada Goose       15  on a frozen pond 
Tundra Swan   4
American   Black Duck    3
Mallard   2
Canvasback     200 flyovers
Lesser Scaup   
Long tailed  Duck    2
Bufflehead      30
Common Goldeneye     4
Ruddy Duck  
Great  Blue Heron     2
Black Vulture       2
Turkey Vulture     2
Bald Eagle      1 immature   flyover    seen by  2  people while at the gate waiting for the Easton group 
Sharp  shinned Hawk     1  quick flyby  seen  by a few  folks 
Red shouldered Hawk     1 flyover seen by 2 folks   at gate while waiting  for  Easton group 
Red Tailed Hawk      1
Ring Billed Gull
Herring Gull
Greater Black backed Gull   1 flyover
Belted Kingfisher     1
Red Bellied Woodpecker    2
Yellow bellied Sapsucker    1
