Greetings (again),

After this morning's alcid excitement, I went to the inlet and found a large group of birders who seem to have been there for a while. They were nice enough to point out a juvenile Common Eider to me among the Long-tailed Duck, Surf, and Black Scoters. After mentioning to those folks there about the Alcids, I encountered earlier, they left to possibly chase those birds... Unfortunately about 20 minutes after they left, I located another Razorbill about half way between the far jetty and the distant shore of Assateague Island. I also located two more imm. Common Eiders on the other side of the jetty; but they were being less-than-cooperative. A group of us continued to study the Razorbill for 20 more minutes.

Before I left amazingly FIVE MORE Razorbills made their way around the jetty on the OC side!!! Making for SIX Razorbills at the inlet between 0800 and 1030!!!! This puts my number of Alcids this morning from the shores of OC at 8 representing 2 species...

Additionally, there were Greater Scaup, loons, Red-breasted Mergs, all Three Scoters (mostly surfs; 10:1), Black Duck, Bufflehead, Canada Goose Brandt, one Great Cormorant, two DC Cormorarnt, a lone Bonaparte's Gull, the other three gulls, and a single Harbour Seal present at the inlet.

Good birding,
