I also had two Tree Swallows today on the Patuxent, at Merkle Wildlife Sanctuary. I was as shocked as you were. Is it possible they were the two same individuals? I saw mine around 3:45pm.

Other highlights were a Rusty Blackbird, Merlin, Savannah Sparrows, and Pipits.
