Hi all

A mob of crows alerted me to a Great Horned Owl sitting next to my yard at dawn this morning. That was fun.

Now my possibly silly question. The crows kept making a ruckus.Suddenly I heard a Red-Shouldered Hawk screaming. I looked for the hawk unsuccessfully. I truly sounded as if the hawk was right in the midst of the crows. Couldn't see it. The owl flushed. Crows followed it. No sign of a buteo. Well, maybe I just had a shy hawk sitting in front of me. Then I wondered at the many times I have been fooled by blue jays sounding like a red-shouldered. Could other corvids have a similar ability? Has anyone out there heard of such a thing?

Thanks
