Sorry for posting a little late but I headed to Soldier's Delight NEA Friday evening (2/27) to look/listen for AMERICAN WOODCOCK and owls. In the big fields on the Serpentine Trail (White Trail), I heard the "peenting" and twittering of AMERICAN WOODCOCK and observed several in their display flight high in the air. I'd estimate there were about 5-10 woodcock in the area. The horizon there makes it difficult to see some of the flights-- I did observe two on the ground and three in the air.

For those who try to find them, the time was about 6:15-6:30pm.

Happy Birding!
