Hey everyone-

Taking advantage of a day off from school, I decided to search the conifers in my neighborhood for the Crossbill flock that I had here a couple of weeks ago. I thought I would get lucky when I heard a group of Siskins in a spruce, but after careful inspection, I had around 20 House Finches, 10 Pine Siskins, and 20 Goldfinches, but no Crossbills. The birds were too high for photos, but later, as I was enjoying the snow at my friend's house, I saw that he had around 10 Siskins coming to his feeders. I rushed home, got my camera, and was able to get a few good shots when I returned.

I have a two-hour delay tomorrow, and am hoping to get to Druid Ridge to photograph the Crossbills in the snow before I go to school. Hopefully I can convince my mom to drive me!

Good birding,
