Cackling Goose - Paint Branch Trail (College Park) - 06Mar09

Yesterday afternoon, biking by the Golf Course Pond along the Paint Branch Trail (next to Driving Range, right by 193 and Rt. 1 in College Park), I observed a Cackling Goose in the company of 30, perhaps 40 Canada Geese (an unusually high number for the pond there, unusual to have more than a dozen).  It looked like (and is probably) the same individual I saw at Lake Artemesia a week ago, which suggests that it's probably still around.

As to which subrace? of Cackling Goose, I'm eager to hear your thoughts.  I was able to go back to L. Artemesia last Saturday (Feb. 28th) and take some photos.  I've posted some ID shots here (again these are the bird from last week, not yesterday):
