Apparently, however, WORD formatting translates to double spacing between paragraphs instead of single spacing…. <sigh>….. perfection is just elusive, isn’t it?

Looks like I’ve been able to get two messages to the list today that were
thankfully) free of those nasty unintentional question marks.  I’m still not
ure what is happening, although the best guess from the information I have
leaned from helpful listers is that I am most likely creating the messages in
tml – unbeknownst to me and likely thanks to AOL.

I haven’t found a way to change AOL’s formatting to plain text – yet.  But I did
ry writing my message in Word, then cutting and pasting it into an AOL
essage.  Those are the messages that have come through clean (hopefully this
ne will, too).   This apparently avoids creating an html file – AOL must just
ass the text along in that case, regardless of the format it was created in
just guessing – any wiser ideas on that one?)

As a writer, I have been totally appalled at the “invisible editor” mucking with
y text and adding all the ugly marks, because I know it must be terribly
istracting to the re
aders!  Apologies for that.

I for one am MUCH happier with clean text – and will TRY to remember to take the
ime to create via Word.  Thanks to all who helped!

One favor – if anyone sees my private email coming through with marks, let me
now.  Apparently it does for some and not for others – don’t know what’s that
bout.

till working to understand it all, but at least there is a viable fix that can
e suggested to others when it happens to them.
