I spent this afternoon (3/16) visiting portions of Centennial and Font Hill Parks in Howard County. I saw three White-winged Crossbills, a male and two females, perched in the top of a fir tree near the parking lot which is left of the Route 108 entrance. The time was around 2:30 PM. Also at Centennial was an Eastern Phoebe perched in a tree near the paddle boat storage area and two Yellow-rumped Warblers nearby. At Font Hill Park near the Font Hill Drive entrance I saw four Pine Siskins and heard a Pileated Woodpecker and a Swamp Sparrow. When I returned home to Columbia a Barred Owl was calling.
