Official Counter: Sue Ricciardi
Observers: Cal Orvis, Hal Wierenga, Lynn Davidson
Weather:
Fog at the start; then mostly sunny; then partly cloudy; 41-64 degrees;
poor to fair visibility; winds southerly, sometimes with a westerly
component
Raptor Observations:
Nice buteo flight. Bald Eagles took to the skies today. On two different
occasions, two adult Bald Eagles, a male and a female, performed courtship
displays, calling loudly in the process. On one of those times a second
female flew in and seemed to be driven away by the other female. Also
twice, an immature was chased by an adult. The implication is that there
may be a nesting pair nearby. Also, a Peregrine Falcon was observed flying
in pursuit of some unknown prey.
Non-raptor Observations:
Migrant Canada Geese, 1825 with 24 Tundra Swans
