Folks

The Yellowbook shows early arrival dates for Acadian Flycatcher as April 19. Early arrival dates for Gray-cheeked Thrush is May 3 and for Bicknell's Thrush is May 5. Everyone should have a copy of the Yellowbook and I think it is still available from the MDBirds bookstore.

Both reports on MDOsprey about these possible species would be very suspect based on the historical dates. European Starlings make all kinds of calls and songs, and are often mistaken for other species. American Goldfinches are also very vocal this time of year and can confuse birders. It could be a number of other species like American Robin. Unless you see the bird singing and can confirm species acceptance of neotropical migrants a month or two ahead of historical records is highly suspect and should be carefully documented.
