Queen Annes County Waterfowl 3 - 23 - 09 and a late report

      Hi  all a quick report  to say  last evening  3 - 23 from 6:15 Pm till dark  I made a  trip  to Kent Narrows  as well as a few other stops To try to relocate The Red Necked Grebe  Reported By Bill Hubick On Maryland Osprey  list serve  . I was not able to refind the  Red Necked Grebe   for sure  .There  was however  a grebe  way out that could have been it  but to far for me to tell . All waterfowl here was   a good ways out . Bird list Below  most numbers are rough  estminates  .

Mallard    2      male , female pair 


Kent Narrows  Grasonville side and Kent Island side    Stop 2
Mostly Empty   most waterfowl here distant twords Eastern Bay  and  much that  could not be ID 

Double Crested Comorant    5
Horned Grebe    2
Bufflehead        5 
Scaup species   20 
Greater Black Backed Gull     8


Dominion       Crab Alley Bay      Kent Island  stop 3 
I had most of my luck  here  and a nice sunset to boot 
 

D.C. Comorant       lots     Out on distant Bodkin Island 
Horned Grebe     1
Common Loon     1 
Bufflehead    200     most likely  more 
Red Breasted Merganser    11
Scaup species      30
Redhead        28      Hens and Drakes    The most I have ever seen in a flock 
Ospery      1

A quick stop here in the last bit of light  produced 

Great Blue Heron        1
