I can't answer your question with any authority, but it seems to me that
just in the past several days I have been seeing many more siskins at all of
my
feeders and throughout the yard, even feeding upside down ala crossbills
from
the spruce cones, as well. I haven't seen such numbers since mid-winter, but
now they are everywhere and feeding voraciously, making me think they are
trying to build up their fat reserves before they leave, which I think will
be
soon, based just on my observations of their feeding habits lately.
