Hi all --
We went up to Diamond Point, Back River, this morning and had two
winter-plumaged LITTLE GULLS flying around amongst the Bonaparte's. It was
high tide and essentially all the gulls were upstream of the Eastern Ave.
bridge. We also scanned a bit from the shore behind the Royal Farms gas
station.
We estimated about 900 Bonies about, s well as a fair number of Ring-bills
and a few Herring Gulls. Other birds of interest included Common Merganser,
Cooper's Hawk, Purple Martin and a large raft of Ruddy Ducks upstream of the
bridge.
