Folks

It is time to put out that recently cleaned hummingbird feeder. They will be back shortly. Check out www.hummingbirds.net/map.html. to see how close our the Ruby-throats. The map shows that one has already been seen in MD.

I suggest starting with 1 sugar water and 4 parts water as starter food to give them a bit more energy. Remember they just flew a long way. Colored water is not necessary and may be harmful. Put a feeder some where that you can see daily so you know when they arrive. If the weather gets warms change your feeder solution every couple days. Adult male are likely to be the first to arrive. Please post when you see one so others can be reminded to put out their feeder.

If you don't put them out they won't come.

George
