This morning a MERLIN flew over our yard, then landed in a tree and
remained in view, tho' as if trying to remain inconspicuous, for a few
minutes while we both had a chance to view it. There was no interaction
between him and any other birds, nor any sign that any recognized him.
FOY # 55 for the yard.
Also, yesterday afternoon, several Royal Terns (not Caspian) passed up
and down the Patuxent between Milltown Landing and Chalk Point as seen
from the CV side.
Siskins largely abandoned our feeders yesterday tho' we noticed several
lingering in the surrounding woods preferring to feed there. A change in
diet preparatory to a longer journey?
