Hi Everybody,
The Kent County Bird Club has two upcoming field trips:
On Saturday, 18 April (tomorrow) Nancy and I will be leading a low-key
beginner-friendly two-hour bird walk, beginning at 9:00 AM, on the
grounds of the Heron Point community in Chestertown. The community has a
marsh boardwalk (with rails -- both wooden and the birds) to the shores
of the Chester River and good woodland edge habitat with potential for a
variety of returning migrants and resident birds. Meet in the main
parking lot.
Next Saturday, 25 April, we will head to Millington Wildlife Management
Area in search of recently arrived nesting species such as Blue-gray
Gnatcatcher, Louisiana Waterthrush and Prothonotary Warbler plus
whatever other newly arrived local and migrant thrushes, vireos and
warblers might be found. We will meet participants at the Dollar General
parking lot in downtown Chestertown at 8:00 AM for carpooling. Be
prepared for muddy trails and bring some snacks.
We hope to see some of you on one of these walks,
