I looked up to see what appeared to be a female RTHB at the feeder just before 0900 this morning.  Later a singing Catbird allowed me to approach close enough for a visual confirmation - always a handsome bird!

re eggs shells
I've been seeing blue (I assumed Robin) egg pieces in the yard for a couple of weeks.

re HEAT and DROUGHT
Check/refill those birdbaths during this hot spell.
