I birded the Halethorpe ponds # 4 & 5 on the Baltimore Co. side of the
Patapsco river between 8:30 and 11:00 this morning on my way to UMBC.
Birds of note were a pair of Wood Ducks, 2 GREAT EGRETS, Bald Eagle, 2
Red-tailed Hawk, an immature Red-shouldered Hawk, SPOTTED SANDPIPER,
SOLITARY SANDPIPER, a pair of LEAST TERNS, GREAT-CRESTED FLYCATCHER,
EASTERN KINGBIRD, 2 singing WARBLING VIREOS, Yellow-throated Vireo,
White-eyed Vireo, Northern Parula, NASHVILLE WARBLER, 6 YELLOW WARBLERS, a
brilliant male AMERICAN REDSTART, INDIGO BUNTING, 2 SAVANNAH SPARROW, 4
BALTIMORE ORIOLES, and 3 ORCHARD ORIOLES. No waterthrushes or
prothonotaries heard or seen, but I should have gotten there an hour and a
half sooner.
