This morning, mere moments before leaving for work, I noticed two
unusual birds come to my sunflower seed feeder. Luckily I had just
enough time to give them a once-over and realized it was two very
handsome male Rose-Breasted Grosbeaks. I've never had them in my yard
before and haven't seen more than two or three ever. It was a nice way
to start a workday! Other new birds as of late are Great Crested
Flycatchers (3 males playing tag-your-in-my-neighborhood games), a
likely Orchard Oriole, lots of Common Yellowthroats calling, an
unidentified Vireo, Yellow-Throated Warbler, Blue-Headed Vireo, Wood
Thrush and many of the others currently being posted about. I finally
got my hummer feeder out the other day and a female and male showed up
just a little while later.
