Folks

Based on Ron Gutberlet's post that Sam Dyke relocated the White-faced Ibis in Berlin yesterday, I took a quick run over to the location. I easily found the White-faced Ibis with five Glossy Ibis's just before 9 AM. I drove into the apartment complex on the east side of Rt. 113.

To get to this location take Rt. 50 to Rt 113. Take Rt. 113 south toward Pocomoke City. At the first light which is about 1/4 mile on Rt. 113 (Rt. 346) turn left. There is a BP gas station on the corner with Rt. 113 and Rt 346. At the first right on Rt. 346 turn right into the apartment area. I don't remember seeing a sign for the apartment complex name. There is a sign that says no trespassing as you enter, but the few folks I spoke to at the complex seemed very friendly and excited about the bird. I showed one lady the ibis in the scope and she thought that was cool. Others at the complex smiled and waved as I went about my business of taking pictures of the animal.

I recommend driving into the complex and viewing the bird from the parking area marked visitors which faces west, toward the birds in the flooded field. This area is much safer than parking on Rt. 113 northbound and viewing from the busy highway. You can't park on Rt. 346. If you drive into this complex be on good behavior, and please don't walk out into the field.

With the warm weather expected and southerly winds, this WFIB may head elsewhere, especially if the water evaporates, so go soon and good luck. I will post images on my website later today. www.georgejett.net.
