Hi Folks,

I took a walk in the rain at Greenbury Point, Annapolis, yesterday shortly
after noon. One often finds strange things in the rain, and my such find at
Greenbury was an AMERICAN PIPIT running along the road that goes out to the
point. Other birds of note for my annual AA Co. list were a singing VEERY
near the boat ramp, a couple of noisy YB CHATs, and an ORCHARD ORIOLE.

Following the report of Anhinga at Lilypons, I headed out there yesterday
afternoon, arriving just before 5 p.m. Mike Burchett and his girl friend
were just leaving, having spent three hours there searching in vain. I
spent the next hour walking around and looking when Bill Hubick and Jim
Brighton showed up, so I then joined them for another circuit of the
property, and later Tom Feild and Geraldine King joined us. No Anhinga, but
there were some nice birds around. Notable for me were BLACK-BILLED CUCKOO
(thanks Mike B. for alerting me to this bird), CATTLE EGRET, and a singing
BLACKPOLL WARBLER among the many Yellows and Prothonotarys, and occasional
Yellow-rump.

Between the two above trips, I got a knock on the door from my neighbor who
works for the AA County Animal Control Division. He brought with him a cage
in which was a female N. BOBWHITE. He said it was found in a tunnel at BWI
Airport. I visited BWI many times over a three-year period during the
Breeding Bird Atlas, and there were no sightings or reports of Bobwhite
there at that time. Released bird? Interesting.
