Hello Maryland Birders,

As spring migrants are still passing through, many of our breeding birds are
now holding territories and building nests. The time for surveying our more
vulnerable bird species as part of Audubon MD-DC's IBA Bird Blitz is just
around the corner. That is the reason why I wanted to remind everyone that
there will be a Western Maryland Bird Blitz training session next Tuesday,
May 12, 2009 at 7:00PM at Frostburg State University, Compton Room 226. This
session will cover all instructions and updated methods for Bird Blitz 2009,
including hands-on GPS training. Also, participants will be able to sign up
for survey routes in Garrett and Allegany counties. If you would like to
help identify areas of critical habitat for our most at-risk bird species in
western Maryland, come join us for Bird Blitz 2009! For more information on
the IBA Program and Bird Blitz, visit Audubon MD-DC online at:
http://mddc.audubon.org/SciCon_IBAs.html or contact me via phone or email.

Thank you and I hope to see you on May 12!

David
