Dear All
Various reports to pass on:
- Frank Hawkins saw a Little Blue Heron at Hains Pt yesterday evening, on the west side by the second loo
- I heard a Blackburnian Warbler at Van Ness this morning. It was in the ground of the Israeli Embassy so I didn't feel like stopping and gawping but could see it distantly in the tree tops singing away
- Bruce Beehler's cycle to work along the Potomac this morning was productive with 11 warbler species, a singing Cerulean the highlight by Roosevelt monument on Roos. Island. plus Prothonotary (1) Nashville (1) Black-throated Blue (2) Myrtle (5) Parula (4) Am. Redstart (1) No. Waterthrush (1) Ovenbird (2) Yellowthroat (2) Yellow (1). And there 40+ singing Bobolinks kicking up a ruckus in the tall grass at Gravelly Point. Bruce says that it was mayhem! There were probably more than 100 there, with half hidden in the grass...
All very nice.
