John Williamson and I did the May count yesterday, Saturday, along the C&O Canal towpath from White's Ferry to Edwards Ferry in Montgomery County.  I had to leave at noon and John was continuing for the rest of the day including back along River Road inland to White's Ferry so he may have species to add to this account.

My full list from eBird appears below.  We saw or heard 57 species.  Highlights were a very large flock of Cedar Waxwings at White's Ferry.  We heard additional flocks overhead as we walked the towpath but couldn't see them through the leaf cover.  We saw one Turkey and heard at least two others gobbling between the towpath and the River.  There was an abundance of flycatchers, particularly Acadian and Great Crested, and loads of House Wrens and Catbirds.  Lots of Yellow-billed Cuckoos and Red-eyed Vireos were calling.  Not much in the way of warblers seen or heard -- primarily singing Prothonotary, Common Yellowthroat, and Northern Parula.
