Today at the Little Patuxent Oxbow Lake Nature Preserve, I was quite surprised with a WILD TURKEY. I followed the trail to the right from the fenced observation area. As I always do, I stopped just before reaching the incline that takes me down to lake-level in the northeast corner. I do this to look into that corner for whatever it currently is attracting. Today at lake-level that was a WILD TURKEY. It walked across the small creek, up the bank on the other side and continued to make its way westerly along the edge of the lake. 5-10 minutes later I heard a noise and turned to see it flying across the lake to the southwest corner! This was quite suprising to me and was glad to finally have a live WILD TURKEY to add to the Oxbow list.

A few other birds today:

BLACKPOLL WARBLER (new today)
Baltimore Oriole
Pine Warbler
Red-eyed Vireo
Yellow-throated Vireo
Great Crested Flycather
Gray Catbird
Red-winged Blackbird
Red-bellied Woodpecker
