Despite the cool night, there was a definite change in birds in the park from yesterday to today. Most notable were the departures: yesterday there were still many Yellow-rumped warblers and a little group of White-throated Sparrows; today just 2 drab female Yellow-rumps and no White-throats. Magnolia Warbler, Redstart, and small numbers of Waxwings were around both days.
Highlights yesterday were a LEAST FLYCATCHER and a singing YELLOW-THROATED VIREO that wasn't there in the morning but appeared in the early evening.
Today, a very cooperative BLACKBURNIAN WARBLER, a female ROSE-BEASTED GROSBEAK, and a VEERY and SWAINSON'S THRUSH made for a nice morning.
