I had a good morning walk around Schoolhouse Pond today. Highlights were a few migrant warblers, shorebirds and a Baltimore Oriole. Warblers were singing all around the pond, but appeared concentrated in the sunlit trees on the side of the pond to the left of the office townhouses. The most unusual birds were an adult female Tennessee Warbler and an adult male Orange-crowned Warbler. Blackpoll Warblers were singing from many trees and bushes around the pond. Also present were 3 Yellow Warblers, 2 singing Northern Waterthrush, 1 Prothonatary Warbler, 3 Common Yellowthroats, and 2 American Redstarts.

Shorebirds included 3 Spotted Sandpipers and 2 Solitary Sandpipers. Other notable birds include a singing adult male Baltimore Oriole at eye level, singing House Wren, calling Waxwing, Barn, Rough-winged, and Tree Swallows, and a few flyover Laughing Gulls.
