Frank Hawkins, Greg Butcher and I toured KP and Hains this morning. The radar looked busy from last night and there were grounded birds including:

Kenilworth Park
N. Waterthrush 3
Redstart 2
Yellow warb 5
Blackpoll 2
Bobolink 10+
Blue Grosbeak 2-3
Yb Chat 1
Savanna Sparrow 6
GRASSHOPPER SPARROW 1
Field Sparrow 2

The GRASP (my acronym) was singing in the area immediately to the right of the entrance, sitting up nicely. The other high spot was a Gray Fox which tried to hide from us up a tree but then panicked and fell off the branch about ten feet, landed on its back and then shot off. Poor thing.

Hains Pt, mostly around maintenance yard at point
Warbling Vireo 2-3
RE Vireo 4
Redstart 10+
Blackpoll 8
Ovenbird 1
Yellowthroat 8
Swainson's/ GC Thrush 3
Veery 1

Also a single Nighthawk feeding over the Tidal Basin - initially called by me as a tern!

Cheers

Gary
