Subject: Cattle Egret
Hi Sean,
This morning, while traveling down Locust Point Road, I observed at least thirteen Cattle Egret foraging in a plowed field. This is a location where I have seen them in years past as well. The birds were seen at 9:15am and again as I was leaving around noon.
The field appears to be a cattle grazing field (cows were present), and is easily scanned from where Locust Point and Old Locust Point Roads meet. There's a stand of trees lining what I suspect is the property line, and the birds were closest to this area in the plowed field.
Don't know if you are still interested in these types of observations, but I am in Maryland at least once a week for boating and visiting family, so am always on the lookout for good birds. Cattle Egret are difficult to get in my county just a few miles up the road!
Good birding,
