I spent both the morning and evening in PG County. The morning at Bladensburg Park/Anacostia Trail was a little slow since there were no shorebirds other than Killdeer and few migrants. The most interesting birds along the trail were a singing Swainson's Thrush, Blue Grosbeak, Yellow-billed Cuckoo, and Blackpoll Warbler along with the more expected Orchard and Baltimore Orioles. A male Hooded Merganser was in the river on the north side of Rt. 1 Alt.
This evening, I drove over to Governor's Bridge, where I saw two Common Nighthawks heading north. There weren't any nighthawks in the lights at the Bowie Baysox stadium, but it was still fairly early (8:30).
