After one of the deadest May mornings I can remember yesterday, today started off looking the same. But a late start wound up helping, along with some persistence--when the fog began burning off, a TENNESSEE WARBLER started to sing. Though one was here last fall, this is my first spring sighting of this species here or anywhere else, and thus the first time I've ever heard this fun song in the field.

A Blackpoll and Magnolia were also present, as was my first pewee of the spring and a first-year male ORCHARD ORIOLE.

It's getting late out there--today was the first day this spring that I've had warblers in the park, but no Yellow-rumps.
