Earlier this evening Jim Peters led Judy Harding and I on evening bird walk
at Fort McHenry. Five minutes after we started Judy spotted two female
Red-necked Phalarope swimming near the seawall on the west side of the Fort
grounds. As the birds approached the seawall were able to view them at close
range (at approx 35 ft) with Jimıs scope. We noticed that the birds had not
fully reached there breeding plumage. The birds flushed twice (not because
of the 3 birders or the 14 joggers) and flew wide around the open water and
then around the Fort.

Jim will be at the Fort in the morning and will call in an update. The Fort
is now open from 8 am to 8 pm.
